2023 Scholarship Recipients

In 2023 CFUW Georgetown awarded $7,500 in scholarships that was shared equally between three schools. This year’s recipients of the CFUW Georgetown Scholarships are:

From Acton District High School

Dannon Ingram Dannon is headed to Algonquin College for the HVAC Program.  Carol Collier presented the Award at ADS’s June 13th’s commencement. 


From Christ the King Secondary School

Zoe Fung and Kieran Pires. Zoe is headed to Laurier University where she will study Kinesiology. Kieran is headed to York University where he will study Business Administration (Schulich). Both Zoe and Kieran have been active throughout their high school years in school counsels and activities as well as in various community work.  Margaret Teasdale presented the Awards at CTK’s June 28th commencement.


From Georgetown District High School

Uma Maybury and Natalie McPherson. Uma is headed to the University of Guelph where she will study Criminal Justice and Public Policy with future career aspirations in public policy, governance or law. Natalie is headed to the University of Waterloo where she will study Life Sciences (Biochemistry) with future career aspirations in forensic science, DNA research or genetics. Both Uma and Natalie have excelled in a broad range of academic, extra-curricular and volunteer experiences. Diane McDermott presented the Awards at GDHS’ June 28th commencement.


2022 Scholarship Recipients

In 2022 CFUW Georgetown awarded $6,000 in scholarships that was shared between five winners. The recipients of $1,200 scholarships were:

  • Georgetown District High School — Kenda Oribhabor, and Jacqueline Zammit
  • Christ the King Catholic Secondary School — Olivia Reich, Nina Rataux, and James Guzzo 

Winners received their cheques and certificates  at their Commencement Ceremonies. 

 

About the Scholarship Program

CFUW Georgetown annually awards scholarships to students who reside in Halton Hills. 

This year CFUW will be awarding scholarships to students at Acton District High School, Georgetown District High School and Christ the King Catholic Secondary School. 

Students who are graduating from an academic, applied or trades program and are entering post-secondary education are eligible. Consideration will be given to students who work hard and always try their best. Students should also demonstrate participation in school extra curricular activities as well as community activities. High School staff will select the winners.

The CFUW Georgetown Scholarship Trust Fund is a charitable organization. You can donate to the Trust Fund in honour or in memory of a loved one or simply by making an individual charitable donation. The treasurer of the Trust Fund will issue a Charitable Donation Receipt. Donations to the trust fund can be made in 3 ways:

1. Make your donation through Canada Helps

2. Donate directly to the Fund by e-transfer to donationsforscholarships@cfuw-georgetown.ca 

3. Donate by cheque made payable to CFUW Georgetown Scholarship Trust Fund.
